The Sandrine bag is a soft, hobo-shaped shoulder bag. Here, the word hobo does not refer to a brand, but to a very common bag style: a soft model, often wider at the bottom than at the top, with a curved opening and a natural drape when worn.
This bag design clearly showcases the textile. The body of the bag is made of French jacquard fabric. Various patterns combine poppies, corn poppies, as well as flax flowers, anemones, and a vibrant jungle motif.
Natural leather frames the top of the bag, highlighting its contours and forming a double, wide handle securely stitched to the bag. These wide handles rest comfortably on the shoulder, making it more comfortable to carry, even when the bag is full. This construction results in a sturdy and practical bag for everyday use, while remaining within reasonable limits. The leather provides a warmer, more natural finish, adding warmth to the overall look and creating a softer contrast with the light background.
The bag closes with a zipper, a simple system that maintains the opening without stiffening the lines of the design.
The interior features a double zippered pocket, useful for storing small items you want to find quickly. This detail adds separate storage inside the bag without altering its exterior design.
The designs are first created and painted by the artist Sqille, then adapted for weaving to become jacquard fabrics made in France. The design is therefore not printed on the surface: it is constructed within the material, with the relief and structure characteristic of the jacquard method.
After weaving, the bag is crafted and assembled in France by artisans. Its dimensions of 33 x 24 x 8 cm allow it to maintain a generous volume while retaining a supple silhouette. With a height of 67 cm including the strap and a weight of 0.640 kg, the Sandrine bag offers ample capacity without becoming cumbersome on the shoulder.
